Create a Library Landing Page
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström
In
the
previous demo Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, showed the issue of
SharePoint only displaying one or three views in libraries
and other lists. In this article we will show how a landing
page gives users a chance to see all views when they click
on the library link.
Create a landing page with view links
- Click on the SharePoint settings gear and select
'Add a page'. This will give you a modern page. Give
the page a name.
- For a classic page, open the Site contents >Site
pages, click on 'New' and select 'Wiki Page'. Give the
page a name. Click on OK, and the new page opens in
edit mode.
- Create links in any way you prefer. Peter uses wiki
links, but you can also use the
insert link options described in an earlier article
or the modern page Links web part.
- Click on Save or Publish.
When the new page has been created, open the Quick Launch
in edit mode and delete the default Documents. Then add
the landing page to the Quick Launch instead and save the
changes. This way users will see all views when they click
on the link to the document library.
