Set a View as Default
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström
In
a few articles Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, explains how to work
with views. In the demo below he shows how to make a view
the default one and describes what this means.
Peter continues to work with the same SharePoint library
as in the Views Introduction
and Grouped View articles.
He even continues his discussion about grouped views, as
he explains that the Quick Edit mode does not work in grouped
views, which might be a reason for not making a grouped
view default.
When you make a view default, this view will be opened when
you open the list or library. In the classic interface,
the view name will be shown first in the row of views, so
the Grouped view is the default view in the image below.
To change default view, just check the box for default in
another view, and it will replace the earlier default view.
