Modern
SharePoint pages have two web parts for image addition,
but the classic wiki page gives more options to customize
how the image is displayed. In the
previous article
Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer of kalmstrom.com
Business Solutions, showed how to add a picture From Computer
to a wiki page and how to change the position of the picture.
In the demo below, Peter shows how to add a picture From
Address. In the
next article, Peter will explain how to add a picture
From SharePoint.
When you add a picture from an address, you have no control
over the picture if you do not control the original site.
If the picture is removed from the original site, it will
no longer be shown on your SharePoint site, and if it is
updated on the original site it will be updated on your
site too.
To have full control over the picture, download it and use
the From Computer or From SharePoint option. But this of
course means that your picture will not be updated when
the original picture is updated.
These are the steps to add a picture from an address to
a SharePoint page:
Click on Edit on the top right of the page. The
page will open in Edit mode.
Place
the mouse cursor where you want to add a picture.
Open the INSERT tab and expand the Picture accordion.
There are three options. Select From Address.
Fill the URL in the address field.
Click OK, and the picture will be displayed on the
page.
