Before
we start looking into PowerShell in this tutorial series,
we will discuss why you should automate business processes
in the first place.
In the demo below, Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, talks about the benefits
of SharePoint automation compared to manual processes.
Accuracy
A flow always works in the same way, so once you have tested
the script and made sure that it works as it should, you
can rely on its accuracy. It follows the same process in
the same way every time. It does not make mistakes or variations
now and then, like we humans do.
Tracking
With a PowerShell script, it is easy to track processes.
Flows can log and document what has been done, something
that is often requested by the management and sometimes
even by law. Such tasks are often boring to perform manually.
Speed
Once you have created the script, it will perform most processes
much quicker than a human can do.
