In the previous
demo, Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer of kalmstrom.com
Business Solutions, created a model-driven powerapp from
a Daily Tasks Dataverse table.
In this demo, Peter will create a canvas app from the same
Daily Tasks table, in the Recurring Tasks solution.
If you earlier have watched Peter's demo on how to build
a canvas app from a SharePoint list, you will notice a difference:
In this app we can select to show a view from the Dataverse
table that only displays active tasks. It is not possible
to select view when you use SharePoint as the data source,
so in that demo Peter instead added a filter to the Browse
screen.
Steps
In the Recurring Tasks solutoin, create a new canvas
app: Tasks To Do.
Add a gallery and connect it to the Dataverse table
Daily Tasks. (Add the gallery via the Insert button
if you don't get the question.)
Add a Form screen and connect it to the Daily Tasks
table.
Edit the fields and check the control types.
Modify the header title to show the name of the
selected task.
Remove the Name field in the Edit form.
In the Browser gallery, modify the arrows so that
they navigate to the Edit form.
In the Edit form, modify the submit icon so that
it not only submits but also goes back to the gallery.
In the Edit form, modify the X icon so that it goes
back to the previous screen.
Select the Active Tasks view.
