Manage Rental Agreements – Add Content Type to
List

In
the previous
article we explained how to create a content type for rental
agreements. Now we will add this content type to a list.
In the demo below Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, creates a new custom
list, makes some changes to the list and view settings and
then adds the rental agreements content type as the only
content type for that list. Then, when he creates a new
item, he will have a form with the columns he added to the
content type.
Add a rental agreements content type to a list
Open the list and click on the List settings button
under the LIST tab.
Under Advanced settings, Allow management of content
types.
Click on the link 'Add from existing content types'.
Select the content type group and add the content
type you wish to use. Click OK.
Click on the default content type and delete it
from the list.
Modify the view so that the site columns are visible.
In the
next article we will create a template from the list,
so that we don't have to do all the work over again for
new lists that should use the same content type.
