Create a Mega Top Menu
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström
When the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure is
activated, you can use the Navigation page to create a mega
menu with in the global navigation.
In such a menu the links are grouped under headings, which
makes it more scalable than if you just put the links in
a long row. (Another navigation option is to use the SharePoint
Search.)
If the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure is not
activated, you can still create headings and add links under
them by using drag and drop, but it is often difficult to
get the links where you want them. The Navigation page that
comes with SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure makes
it easier.
In the demo below Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, first tries to modify
the top/global navigation by drag and drop directly on the
page. Then he shows how to do it on the Navigation page,
which you only can use when the SharePoint Server Publishing
Infrastructure has been activated.
