Image Renditions
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström
Once the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature
has been activated for the site collection you can activate
the SharePoint Server Publishing feature for the site. This
was described in the
previous demo.
Image Rendtions is one of the new features you get when
the SharePoint Server Publishing feature has been activated.
In the demo below Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, explains how to use
the feature and how to create your own image rendition options.
When the SharePoint Server Publishing feature has been activated
on a site and you create a new page – which will be
a publishing page – and insert an image, then multiple
renditions of the image will be created on the server. You
can select one of them if you click on the Pic Rendition
button under the IMAGE tab.
When you edit the selected rendition you can manually select
how the image should be resized, instead of the automatic
zoom that SharePoint does.
Create a custom rendition
- Click on the settings gear and select Site settings.
- In the Look and Feel group, click on the link 'Image
Renditions'.
- Click on the 'Add new item' link.
- Give the new rendition an name and specify the size
of it.
- Click on Save.
