The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) is a
globally recognized system for recording and reporting health
data. It is maintained by the World Health Organization
and builds on codes for clinical procedures, diseases, conditions
and causes of death.
The ICD codes entered by hospital staff is of course used
in the facilities, but they also give data for statistics
to governments, insurance companies and various organizations.
It is crucial that the information is correct, but the reporting
must not burden hospital staff and take time from their
essential caregiving responsibilities.
For the data to become reliable, the ICD codes must be easy

Our development skills were needed!
In collaboration with Transformation Digiex Nusantara we
have developed a solution called Smart ICD. It is a website
with a very fast search engine, filtering options and a
possibility to print or save forms as PDF. No patient data
is collected or saved by the solution.
The ICD code terminology has not been fully translated from
English into Bahasa Indonesia earlier, but now Transformation
Digiex Nusantara has translated everything. Smart ICD is
therefore bi-lingual
Indonesians are still not maximizing the use of English
in their daily lives, so Smart ICD bridges the language
gap and gives solutions when clinical coders determine ICD
codes after reading diagnoses in English. With Smart ICD
everything is easily accessible in Bahasa Indonesia, and
coders can quickly switch between the languages or use both
side by side.
Smart ICD works in a browser, and as the interface adapts
well to smart phones and tablets, medical staff can use
Smart ICD anywhere and report data without delays.
